Reborn Artistry For The Serious Collector

Welcome to Heirloom Baby Nursery. My name is Dorothy Cozart. I am the artist that has created all of these lifelike baby dolls. I made my first reborn baby five years ago and have made hundreds more every since. My oldest daughter worked with someone whose mom made these adorable babies. She showed them to me on eBay and I was in love. When I was in college years ago, I took a number of oil painting and watercolor classes. I painted porcelain dolls and took ceramic classes for years. I was always involved with some art form but after discovering reborn art that is all I want to do now. It is a true passion for me. I named my nursery “Heirloom Baby Nursery” with the idea that each baby will be passed down the generations of someone’s family. Each baby is lovingly created using the highest quality materials. I never rush the process and pay close attention to detail. My goal is to make the most beautiful lifelike reborn baby that I possibly can. I hope you enjoy all the pictures here on my web page and thank you for stopping by.

I use Genesis Heat Set Paints with a number of other mediums to create all of the skin tones, shading and details. All of my babies are put on high quality soft minky or doe suede bodies. They are weighted to simulate the weight of a real baby. I use only new high quality materials for weighting too. I never use sand. I use tiny less then 1mm glass beads, poly pellets and on some occasions tiny metal balls when extra weight is needed. All of the beads and pellets are contained in pouches that are surrounded with soft premium poly fill or cluster fill.

I give my little ones beautiful new Masterpiece Eyes and in most cases both top and bottom lashes. I give them all new baby manicures so they have a look of freshly clipped baby nails. I also open the noses and back them with felt. Nothing is overlooked. I take great strides to assure my customers will be 100% happy with their new bundles of joy!

I always use the highest quality of Angora Mohair to root my babies hair. The hair is one of the most important steps in making these babies and quality mohair is a must. I use a tiny felting needle and hand root the mohair just a couple strands at a time. This is the most time consuming process when creating a reborn.

All of my reborns come from a clean smoke free home.

About The Artist

I am a married mother of two grown daughters. I have 5 grandchildren. My husband Dennis and I live in Oregon. Years ago when in college I took a number of credited oil and water color courses. I have always loved painting and today my canvas is the vinyl that makes up each new baby.
I thank the Lord and all of my customers for allowing me to continue with this art I love so much. I can not put into words how much I enjoy creating these babies. I take great pride in my work and hope it shows.
All of the babies on my web pages have already been adopted. If you are interested in one similar to one of these, please feel free to contact me. I list new babies every week on eBay and love hearing from you. I normally do not do special orders but I like to hear from people letting me know what babies they would like to see me reborn.
